The brief
Specifiers choosing an insulation product need a U-value for the build-up they have in mind, quickly and in a form they can put in front of Building Control. Doing it by hand is slow, and getting it wrong is expensive.
What we built
A browser-based calculator covering Knauf Insulation's range across the common construction build-ups. Users pick a construction type, adjust the layers and watch the U-value update as they work.
Beyond the U-value itself, the tool assesses condensation risk, gives access to BIM objects and product data, and lets a calculation be saved to a project or downloaded as a record.
Working together
A long-running partnership rather than a one-off build. The calculator has been extended and maintained alongside changes to the product range and to the relevant standards.
